Manufactured from premium HSS or HSSE, with or without PVD coatings for extended operational wear life, Somta reamers, countersinks and counterbores deliver quality results from start through to final finish.
Standard hand and machine reamers, including machine chucking reamers are manufactured under stringent quality control conditions to meet DIN, ISO and BS standards to tolerances of H7.
Straight and spiral flute taper pin reamers are used to ream holes accurately for taper pins used in numerous engineering applications.
MTS taper socket finishing reamers are used for final finishing of Morse Taper holes to accept Morse Taper shafts.
MTS taper bridge reamers are used for enlarging and aligning holes.
Custom designed construction / general purpose hexagonal shank reamers are often used in pneumatic hand held equipment and these are manufactured to customer specifications.
Countersinks are generally used to produce a chamfer recess on drilled or reamed holes, which accommodates the corresponding countersunk head screw. They are also used as a deburring tool.
Counterbores are used for counterboring a drilled or reamed hole to accommodate seatings for cap screw heads and are therefore identified by the cap screw size they suit.

In-house PVD surface coatings can be applied to the full reamer, countersink and counterbore range of standard and custom products. These PVD surface coatings extend tool life by as much as two to ten times depending on the specific application.
